We encourage you to visit and build a relationship with your local nursery. Nurseries will have the best knowledge of the range of flora available to your local area. Invite them to visit your school garden for advice and in return you could thank them in your school newsletter and encourage parents to support their business. Nurseries may also have old stock that could be donated to your school.
For smaller scale garden problems or gardening questions, Yates website has a horticultural team through their Live Chat portal that can answer you immediately. The portal will automatically appear once you are on the site. The team is available from 8am – 7pm weekdays and 10am – 4pm on weekends so you can talk to them either during the school day or after hours.
The VSGA is now offering a new Garden Support service to Victorian schools who need extra help. This service aims to connect schools with larger scale garden/project problems with a horticulture industry expert local to their school or with specific expertise for their problem.
Complete the form below with your school’s contact details and a description of your project problem. The VSGA will attempt to match you with a VSGA Advisory Support member, who will contact you directly.
